J+Social is a Joomla component which can be installed through the Joomla installer.

The component takes care of 99% of the installation needed to setup Elgg, until now a feat not easily acomplished.

J+Social Uses an advanced Obejct/Iframe layout to bring Elgg into Joomla, this allows you to use the community surrounded by Joomla but also access the community directly without the Joomla shell.

Syncronization is handled mainly by a Joomla plugin, it handles the user registration into both systems as well as the logins, Elgg has one custom mod which fills the gap in certain scenarios for loggin in and registration.
